Richmondshire District Council has put together a draft Conservation area appraisal and management proposals that covers part of Richmond. This draft appraisal outlines the historic character and special architecture of the area and how it can be protected, as well as suggested amendments to the boundary of the conservation area.  The question of whether more controls over minor changes should be sought by introducing an Article 4 Direction is also raised.

Residents and businesses are invited to a small exhibition in the reception of Mercury House to view the boundary map and a summary document of the proposals, as well as having the opportunity to talk to a member of the planning team.

Exhibition is open from April 30 to May 3. Opening hours: 8.45am to 17.15pm on Tuesday to Thursday, and 8.45am to 16.45pm on Friday.
