The new website is very important to the council, as it represents the first step in a long process of changing the way customers access our services. 

The website will go live with over 50 eForms, which will allow customers to apply, report and request council services at a time that is convenient to them, and ensure all information is collected in a consistent format.  Workflow will be attached to eForms, which will automate communication with the customer and ensure unnecessary contact is avoided. 

As well as eForms there will be other new features available, such as the opportunity for residents to sign up for a “my account” facility where they will see information relating to their location and their transactions with the council.

Website design and usability have been developed to ensure the site is engaging, logical and customers can easily find the information they require.

The website will be going live on or around 14 December 2017, but we will not be actively publicising its launch until January 2018 so we can undertake an extended period of testing.  With this in mind, we have devised a number of exercises to review the site from a customer perspective.  

We would be very grateful if you could spend some time completing any or all of the testing exercises to help us achieve a successful launch of this essential communications tool.

Within this form, there is the option to test six areas relating to the bins and recycling web pages, and provide some general feedback about the overall site.

Each question will help us establish whether or not we have produced an intuitive and customer focused website.  We would appreciate your full honesty in your responses to these questions, and we will make urgent changes immediately.  

The form will be formatted in the following structure:

  • Your information: Please note, you can remain anonymous for this exercise
  • Questions 1 - 6: These questions will ask you to read the bins and recycling area to establish the location of a series of facts relating to the services we provide.  There will then be further questions to establish how you found the journey of locating this information and the quality of the content.
  • Question 7: This question relates to the overall site. 
  • Your web use: These questions will help us understand your online aptitude.
