How to appeal
If a planning decision doesn't go your way, you have a right to appeal to the independent Planning Inspectorate.
Only the applicant can submit an appeal to the inspectorate.
An appeal can be lodged:
- Against refusal of an application
- Against a condition or conditions imposed on an approval
- When no decision has been made on an application within the statutory time limit (normally eight or 13 weeks)
Appeal time limits
An appeal can only be submitted within six months (or 12 weeks for householder or minor commercial development) of the decision date.
