Richmondshire District Council

Richmondshire residents and business owners are being given a say on what the district council should spend its money on.

The authority is undertaking a budget consultation exercise – councillors want to know what people think of its services and level of council tax. They are being asked which services should have more cash spent on them, which should remain unchanged and which should receive less funding.

And they can give their ideas on how to increase income, reduce costs and make savings to support the authority’s budget.

“We want to work with local people to understand what they want from this council and the wide range of services we provide whether that is waste collection, planning, car parks, public toilets or community safety, to name but a few,” said Council Leader, Councillor Angie Dale.

“We want to hear what they think – to enable us to deliver our key ambitions to enable growth, help vulnerable people, provide a healthy environment, and work with our communities.”

The questionnaire can be accessed online or by collecting a paper copy from the council offices in Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes, Colburn and Reeth. They must be completed and returned by November 29.
