Small Business Grant scheme
A business that provides ‘virtual’ assistance to ventures across Richmondshire has itself been helped to flourish.
Hannah Swierstra of Leyburn realised that while Balance VA Services was definitely her ‘niche’ it needed a marketing boost to realise its potential. And now, with a £1,000 from the District Council’s Small Business Grant fund, she has been able to give the website an update, take new photos and undergo a marketing health check.
“After being in business for almost two years I realised my marketing needed a big boost,” she said. “I knew that without a clear strategy and good copy for my website my re-branding wouldn’t make a difference. The grant has been a real boost not only to my business but also to my confidence, and I have already signed up one client to my largest email marketing package and a have a couple more in the pipeline. Thank you Richmondshire District Council for supporting me.”
The Small Business Grant scheme offers up to £1,000 to small businesses under 36 months old to help start and grow. The fund can be used towards the purchase of equipment, marketing costs and adaptation to premises.
