Business support grants coming soon
Businesses closed as a result of the second national lockdown (November 2020) and looking to tap into the new support grants are being asked to check the district council website for updates.
The council has received funding from central government in order to start making payments. Information request forms will be available early next week on the council’s website.
Businesses required to close due to the new national restrictions will be eligible for the following:
- for properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per 28 day qualifying restriction period
- for properties with a rateable value of £15 to £51k, grants to be £2,000 per 28 day qualifying restriction period
- for properties with a rateable value of £51k or over, grants to be £3,000 per 28 day qualifying restriction period
The council will be using additional funding provided by the Government to set up an ‘Additional Restrictions Grant’ which will help businesses required to close but do not have a business rates bill, along with other businesses that are adversely affected by the new lockdown.
The council’s policy for this discretionary grant scheme is currently being developed and will be ready for applications in the next two weeks. Information will be posted on the district council's website as soon as it is available.
