Grant aid helps with new swings at Hunton

Two sets of swings have been replaced in Hunton thanks to grant aid from the district council.

The Parish Council was awarded a £1,000 grant by the authority’s Lower Wensleydale Area Partnership to go towards the £6,500 scheme to replace ageing equipment on the village play park.

The old timber framed swings, which had been installed in the 80s, had been rendered unusable in their annual inspection. They are enjoyed by children in the village as well as the wider community.

Richmondshire District Council’s five Area Partnerships, for the Upper Dales, Central (including Richmond), Lower Wensleydale, Garrison and North Richmondshire areas, each have £10,000 to award to local projects. To find out more about the funding stream check out our area partnerships page.
