Annual competition for best Richmondshire garden
Richmondshire’s annual competition to find the best gardens in the district is back!
After taking a year’s break due to the impact of Covid-19, judges will be out looking at plots in all District Council owned homes over the next few months.
Throughout June, July and August they will mystery shop the gardens looking for the best window boxes, tubs, baskets, border and vegetable patches. There will be prizes for the best overall gardens too as judges look at how the best use of the area available is made, however large or small.
The gardens are judged in the council’s five area partnership areas: the Upper Dales, Catterick Garrison, Lower Wensleydale, North Richmondshire and Central Richmondshire.
The prizes, of garden centre vouchers of £50, £30 and £20, will be awarded in September.
