New council apprenticeships
The second round of a scheme to bring in apprentices to work across the district council has opened.
The authority is looking to fill four new roles in planning, environmental health and licensing, and housing, where a business administration qualification is offered. Also in procurement and supply where a role specific procurement qualification will be obtained.
It is part of a scheme that has already seen four apprentices sign up with the district council to work in the resources service. The ‘Earn, Learn, Succeed’ apprenticeship programme has been set up in the wake of uncertain times as a result of the coronavirus pandemic – but will offer hope and career opportunities for local people.
The council has appointed a dedicated Apprenticeship/Trainee Coordinator to recruit a cohort of enthusiastic, hard-working individuals. Working in collaboration with approved training providers the council will offer on the job training and allow successful applicants paid-time for study.
The new roles are for an environmental health and licencing administrative assistant apprentice, a housing management administrative assistant apprentice, a planning and climate change administrative assistant apprentice, and a procurement and supply assistant apprentice.
Applications close on June 6, 2021 at 10pm. Enquires can be directed to apprenticeships@richmondshire.gov.uk or to Nadine Slattery, Apprenticeship/Trainee Coordinator, on 01748 901022.
