Choose to Lose going online
Richmondshire’s weight management programme is looking for new online ways of keeping its members fit.
The outbreak of Coronanvirus has seen the ‘Choose to Lose’ scheme close face-to-face contact with no new health assessments being made and weekly group sessions cancelled.
But officers are looking at ways the district council run initiative can still offer advice and help remotely – check out our Choose to Lose page for updated information.
For free health and fitness advice and tips on staying active during this time check out the Sport England and NHS websites.
- ‘Choose to Lose’ is free for adults with a BMI above 25 who are in need of support to implement a healthier lifestyle. It is funded by North Yorkshire County Council Public Health – and delivered by Richmondshire District Council - and consists of a 12 week structured weight management programme plus a 12 week maintenance programme for those who achieve 5% weight loss in their first 12 weeks. The programme offers support from qualified Weight Management Advisors and group support to achieve individual goals
