Richmondshire District Council has been recognised for its support for defence personnel.
It has received a bronze award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The MOD scheme recognises employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support for the armed forces community – and aligns those values through the Armed Forces Covenant.
Bronze award holders pledge their support to the armed forces by employing reservists and veterans and by promoting the armed forces to both existing and prospective employees.
“We are delighted to have been recognised by this scheme,” said Council Chief Executive Tony Clark. “Our armed forces community is very important to our district and we are pleased that the Council as one of the major employers in Richmondshire is making its contribution to supporting that community.”
