Restart Grant applications
The ‘restart’ grant scheme which helps local businesses closes for applications next week.
The scheme – for the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors - provides a one-off sum to support the costs of reopening safely as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
The grants, which are being administered by the District Council on behalf of the Government, will close for applications at midnight on Wednesday June 30. In order to be sure forms are correctly completed businesses are urged to submit them by Monday (June 28). All grants will be paid by July 31.
There are two sets of eligibility criteria:
- Strand One: a one-off payment of up to £6,000 for business ratepayers offering in-person services and whose business is non-essential retail
- Strand Two: a one-off payment of up to £18,000 for business ratepayers offering in-person services and whose business is in hospitality, leisure, accommodation, personal care, gym or sport
The application process is available on our Restart Grant page. The amount paid is based on the rateable value of the property.
