A massive clean up in Richmondshire took place last week - thanks to the work of 80 members of the military.
The team from the 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS, The Highlanders) based at Catterick spent two days on community projects across the district.
They helped out in local schools, churches and communities gardening, undertaking maintenance jobs and repairs. They even gave Colburn Village Hall a fresh coat of paint!
The work was co-ordinated by Richmondshire District Council with Chairman, Councillor Stuart Parsons, commenting: “"Their energy put me to shame! I spent the two days with a group working in Richmond and they were absolutely brilliant. They were enthusiastic and hard working - they didn't require too many cups of tea either.
“It was an honour to work with them. The wider community in Richmondshire are so very grateful that they gave us so much of their time and energy to support our efforts."
