Days left to apply for Kickstart scheme
Richmondshire businesses looking to recruit young people through a government led funding initiative have been reminded they have just days left to lodge an application.
And they can use the District Council to help make it happen as the local authority is a ‘gateway’ to the Kickstart scheme.
The scheme can help place 16 to 24 years olds in jobs by providing funding to create new job placements for young people on Universal Credit and at risk of long term unemployment.
But because each application must be for a minimum of 30 jobs - and a single employer cannot always provide this many placements - a Kickstart gateway can be used. Richmondshire District Council has become one of these gateways. It means smaller businesses can still apply for just one or two placements, but the district council must have a minimum of 30 applications.
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of six months
- associated employer National Insurance contributions
- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
Applications close on 15 January 2021. For further details and to register interest visit our Kickstart scheme page.
