Increase in council tax approved by councillors
Richmondshire District Councillors have approved a £5 increase in council tax.
The rise to £225 for an average Band D property equates to a 2.27% increase from April 2021.
Members of Full Council approved the rise last night (February 23).
The increase applies only to Richmondshire District Council’s tax requirement. The average Band D property will pay £2,015.89 for the 2021/22 year once precepts are applied by North Yorkshire County Council, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority, the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire and local Town/Parish Councils. That equates to £168 per month; £38.77 per week for a Band D property.
Richmondshire District Council is responsible for the billing and collection of council tax on behalf of all these authorities.
