Garden waste to restart
Collections of garden waste restart across Richmondshire next week (February 25) for householders signed up to the district council scheme.
So far, 6,093 homes have subscribed to the scheme – which sees green waste collected from the kerbside every fortnight between February and November.
Subscription renewals for the February 2019 to January 2020 period are now due. Costs were frozen to £22 a year for the collection of one green wheeled bin with additional bins costing £15 a year.
Subscribers can complete an online form or via their ‘my account’. Households can join the scheme at any time during the year, but there are no discounts.
Collections of garden waste are suspended during the winter months of December, January and February apart from one collection to remove Christmas trees in January. People not using the scheme are asked to compost their garden waste or take it to a household waste recycling centre.
