Richmondshire District Councillors have kept council tax rises to a minimum this year – with an increase of just 2.42%.
The rise - £5 for a Band D property - matches the 2017 increase.
Members of the authority’s Full Council last night (Tuesday February 27) agreed the proposal which brings a Band D property to £211.40 .
- This increase applies only to Richmondshire District Council’s tax requirement. The actual increase to a householder’s bill will be greater subject to increases applied by North Yorkshire County Council, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority, the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire and local Town/Parish Councils.
- Richmondshire District Council is responsible for the billing and collection of council tax on behalf of all these authorities.
