Changes to waste collections over Christmas
Refuse and recycling collection dates across Richmondshire are revised due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.
There are no collections on Friday December 25 or January 1 which means they will roll forward, with crews working on the official Boxing Day holiday, December 28, this year. All collections will be back to normal from Monday January 11.
Residents are urged to check their changed dates on our bin collection calendar page.
The changes are:

---|---|
Friday 25 December | Monday 28 December (bank holiday) |
Monday 28 December | Tuesday 29 December |
Tuesday 29 December | Wednesday 30 December |
Wednesday 30 December | Thursday 31 December |
Thursday 31 December | Saturday 2 January |
Friday 1 January | Monday 4 January |
Monday 4 January | Tuesday 5 January |

Excess glass, cans, cardboard and plastic recycling can be placed in blue or white bags, but residents are asked to please remember to keep glass separate. Alternatively excess can be taken to the recycling centres located across the district, which will be open throughout the holidays.
Christmas cards and envelopes should be placed in the blue or white bag. However wrapping paper and tissue paper cannot be recycled, and it should be placed in the grey bin.
