Richmondshire District Council

Letters sent to residents in second stage

The second stage of Richmondshire's annual canvass, which keeps the electoral register up to date, has begun.

With elections taking place in the district in May 2022, it is important that residents do not lose their voice and are able to take part. The annual canvass identifies any residents who are not registered.

Last month (July) those residents that have logged email contact addresses with the council received an invite to check their details online. Any that didn't respond, along with the remaining Richmondshire households, are this month receiving letters.

"It's important that residents now keep an eye out for these letters so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in the district," said Tony Clark, Electoral Registration Officer at Richmondshire District Council.

"If you're not currently registered, the easiest way to do this is online or we can send you information explaining how to do this."

Any residents who have any questions can contact the electoral team on 01748 829100 or email er.elections@richmondshire.gov.uk.
