Deadline nears for business grant aid
Businesses have just a few days left to apply for grant aid to compensate for losses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Requests for the Richmondshire District Council for small business rate relief, rural rate relief and retail, hospitality and leisure grants close on August 26. Any remaining grants must be paid by August 28.
Since the grant was launched in March the council has paid out £22.5 million to nearly 2,000 businesses across the district. The grant was funded by the government to help businesses during the pandemic and there may be a small number of businesses who have not claimed and are still eligible to apply.
Any business that still hasn’t claimed can make an application:
- Businesses entitled to Small Business Rate Relief or Rural Rate Relief as at 11 March 2020 are able to receive a grant of £10,000
- Businesses in receipt of a retail discount under the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant with a rateable value of less than £51,000 are able to receive a grant of up to £10,000, and for those businesses with a rateable value of greater than £15,000 but less than £51,000 a grant of £25,000
