Richmondshire District Council

Tree planted in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

An oak tree has been planted in the grounds of Mercury House in Richmond in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

Chairman of Richmondshire District Council, Councillor Lorraine Hodgson, was joined by council colleagues to plant the tree close to the River Swale. She used compost created from the floral tributes placed around the district following Her Majesty’s death.

A plaque will be placed beside the tree in the coming month.
