Small Business Grant Scheme
A scheme that has injected more than £120,000 into small businesses across Richmondshire over that last four years has had another £30,000 added to its pot.
District Councillors have allocated funding to the authority’s Small Business Grant Scheme which aims to support local businesses and economic growth.
In the 12 months to March 36 schemes were supported, bringing the total over the four years to 142 for everything from IT and computer purchases to website support and training courses. It has generated £131,000 in match funding. The cash is split across the five Area Partnership areas – with Central Richmondshire and the Upper Dales seeing the bulk of the £1,000 grants.
Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Threlfall, said: “These grants may only be small amounts of cash but they are making a big difference to businesses around the district. We want to help all businesses – the £1000 can give them a vital boost and help them fulfil their potential.”
Members of the authority’s Corporate Board gave their approval to the cash allocation this week (September 12, 2017).
Applications for the new funding open on November 1, 2017 and will close once the cash has been allocated. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01748 901037 for more details.
