Richmondshire District Council

Virtual Richmondshire Business Week

Richmondshire’s annual business week will be covid secure as it pilots virtual sessions for the first time.

The coronavirus restrictions have meant a change of plan for the District Council run event, which will run from 19 to 23 October.

Already more than 70 business men and women have signed up to join the free sessions from the comfort of their own offices, but it is hoped that more will register.

The week will see a range of virtual events aimed at supporting businesses in the district. Sessions include an innovation workshop, a business services expo, a wellbeing session, a Brexit business breakfast, sessions aimed at the tourism and hospitality industries, and expert advice for those wanting to tender for contracts.

“We are pleased that the business week can still go ahead this year. After a successful 2019 we wanted to build on that this year,” said Sue White, Business and Community Manager.

“There are some very exciting events planned. Our innovation workshop will help businesses to adapt and change, something many have had to do in these unprecedented times. The procurement workshop will help those businesses looking for new supply chains and guide them through the tendering process to enable their success in both public and private sector procurement. And the business breakfast will show businesses a positive way forward through Covid-19, brexit and beyond.

“We hope to see many of our Richmondshire businesses taking advantage of the week.”
