Richmondshire's apprenticeship scheme has another £22,000 to spend.
The District Council’s Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy Scheme is available to businesses who want to take on a new apprentice - and the first deadline for applications is 31 March 2019.
Businesses looking to appoint an apprentice to complete a Level 1-3 apprenticeship can apply for up to £2,000 towards the wages of their apprentice – with businesses taking on a higher level apprentice of 4 and above can apply for £3,000.
“This is a great new addition to our help for local businesses,” said Leader of the Council, Councillor Yvonne Peacock.
“We hope it attracts lots of interest and helps with our aim to keep young local people living and working in the district.”
Both the business and the apprentice must be based in Richmondshire and priority will be given to those looking to appoint an apprentice aged 16-24. They should also have an annual turnover of less than £50M and fewer than 50 employees, with priority given to businesses with fewer than 20 employees.
Applications will be considered on a bi-monthly basis - the scheme will stop accepting further applications once the total funds have been allocated.
