Richmondshire District Council

Climate change map

A last call for submissions to a project that is drawing up a map of Richmondshire’s climate change projects has gone out.

Community groups and organisations have until Sunday (April 18) to send their information to environmental science student, Alice Foster. She is collating a list of local projects contributing to the fight against climate change including nature based schemes such as tree planting or village allotments; technology based such as solar power; and community schemes such as recycling or minimising food waste.

Alice is working with Richmondshire District Council as part of the council’s climate change programme. The programme has set a target to be net carbon neutral in its own activities and operations by 2030 and encourage others to help achieve the same for the district as a whole.

To get involved Alice simply needs brief details of the projects including where it is, what it involves, who is leading it and at what stage it is at. Just email her at: a.foster-2018@hull.ac.uk
