Keeping bars safe during COVID-19

Richmondshire licensees are being supported by district council environmental health officers as they keep their pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants covid safe.

They are being pointed to a series of steps they can take to keep their premises safe:


The council's website also has a list of frequently asked questions which landlords can follow including on mitigating measures, risk assessments, capacity limits, playing recorded music and screening sport, live performances, booking services and bar service, payment methods, using gaming machines and pool tables, outdoor areas and pavement service.

“The Richmondshire district has around 360 licensed premises including over 100 pubs and we are working with as many of them as possible to help them operate in a safe and secure way during this difficult time,” said Corporate Director, Callum McKeon.

“We hope the public will feel reassured by this work and find the information on the website answers many of their questions too.”
