Richmondshire District Council

Community groups across the Yorkshire Dales are being invited to a special free seminar to look at how to provide affordable housing in their towns and villages.

Housing specialists will be on hand with advice and information at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre event on April 19 from 6-8pm.

It is hosted by Richmondshire District Council which is working with other local authorities in North Yorkshire and the East Riding to provide information on how community led housing can solve home provision for local people.

High house prices, second home ownership and other factors mean local people and families are often forced to move to cheaper areas, local employers struggle to recruit and retain staff, and facilities such as shops, schools and transport come under increasing pressure.

The seminars will build on the information and support covered in the recently launched Community Led Housing Hub website for North Yorkshire and East Riding. It can be found at: www.reachcommunityhousing.co.uk
