Richmondshire District Council

Council's performance over the last year

Richmondshire District Council’s performance over the last 12 months is ‘excellent’.

Richmondshire councillors will meet next week (July 14) to compare performance by the authority against its council plans and key targets - all of which are on target.

It is showing underspends of £275,000 in its general fund, £115,000 in its housing budget and £973,000 in its capital budget.

“This is an excellent performance by the council. These underspends will help the council as we move forward for 2020/21, especially as we have the impact of the coronavirus pandemic to deal with, “ said Council Leader, Councillor Angie Dale.

“The impact of reduced income, for example from car parks, and additional costs will place a significant financial burden on the council moving forward.”

Councillors will discuss the performance reports at Corporate Board next week (July 14). And an updated financial strategy will be reported to the September corporate board, showing the estimated impact of the virus on the authority’s finances.
