October deadline for local plan review
Richmondshire residents have until the end of this month (October) to have their say on the first stage of a review of the district’s Local Development Plan.
The District Council is revisiting the plan - covering towns and villages outside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park – which forms the planning framework for the area.
It sets out what and where development is acceptable and once adopted will govern how planning applications in the plan area are assessed.
The Issues and Options consultation which gives local people a chance to have their say on the plan ends on 31 October 2018.
Residents, businesses and other interested parties are asked to respond and identify the key issues and opportunities for Richmondshire which the revised Local Plan should address. The plan also looks at options and initial ideas for the strategic policies in certain areas - including the scale and location of housing and economic development.
Evidence gathered in the consultation will be used in the preparation of a Draft Local Plan and a Draft Catterick Area Masterplan. They are expected to be published for further consultation in Autumn 2019.
