What is a personal licence?
A personal licence authorises someone to supply alcohol or allow the supply of alcohol in accordance with a premises licence.
Personal licences are “portable” throughout England and Wales.
An applicant must apply to the area in which they normally live.
Apply
First read the personal licence guidance notes, then complete and return the application and declaration forms to the Licensing Team, Richmondshire District Council, Mercury House, Station Road, Richmond DL10 4JX, together with the £37 fee.
Personal licence renewal
A personal licence is now valid indefinitely, so anyone who currently has a licence won't need to renew it. The licence itself, however, may have an expiry date on it. If this date is on or after 1 April 2015, there's no need to renew. You'll still need to tell us of any changes to personal details or address.
