Land art for Tour de Yorkshire 2020

Richmondshire District Council are calling for artists to express their interest in a land art commission which will celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire in Richmondshire.

Artists are invited to design, create and install a temporary piece of land art to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire 2020. On Friday 1 May both the women’s and men’s races will finish in Leyburn town. With a world class field of cyclists and live international TV coverage, it promises to be an exciting event and a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful district.

The commissioner has a total budget of £5,000 which is inclusive of artist fees, materials, installation and travel. The selected artist will need to create a temporary, ‘weather proof’ piece of public land art on a large scale which needs to be clearly visible from the air. Other examples for similar projects are available on the le Tour de Yorkshire website. The art work is to be fully installed by no later than Tuesday 28 April 2020.
