Choose to Lose service - COVID-19

Due to the developing and ever changing situation regarding coronavirus, the delivery of our Choose to Lose programme will be operating slightly differently. We are now accepting new referrals from our partners in health and self-referrals.

Changes to the service:

  • Following Public Health guidance, we can now offer a virtual service. All of the classes and groups, as well as advice will be available to you at any time of the day from anywhere you choose. This means that you can join the programme without the worry of travelling to classes, missing class times, and finding a group that suits your lifestyle and commitments

  • We will continue to carry out triage and health assessments via telephone at your convenience. This will enable us to guarantee as little disruption to your programme, despite any Covid-19 Tier restrictions on travel and meeting face to face

This virtual service will provide the fully supported 12 week programme and the successive week 13-24 programme if the necessary weight loss is achieved.

What is Choose to Lose?

Choose to Lose is a new adult weight management service. It is free to anyone who is registered with a GP in Richmondshire, lives or works in Richmondshire, and are aged over 18 with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or above (25+ if you have co morbidities). 

The service is funded by North Yorkshire County Council Public Health, and delivered by Richmondshire District Council and the Choose to Lose team. 

If you are ready to commit to a 24 week programme and want to feel healthier, Choose to Lose could be the programme for you.
