Green Homes Grant
Local authority delivery - round 2
The Council is working with several other North Yorkshire councils to deliver over £2 million of free energy efficiency and low carbon heating improvements to eligible homes and households across the District and beyond.
The councils have contracted E.on to deliver the scheme up to the end of March 2022. During the autumn, letters will be sent out to the occupants of privately owned properties that are likely to be eligible for free works. If you get one of these letters, it will invite you to contact E.on to find out more.
Eligible homes are generally ones with an energy performance certificate rating of D, E, F or G. Eligible households are generally those with an annual income of £30,000 or less.
The scheme is not free to landlords, but does provide them with significant grants towards the costs of the improvements.
You can find out more about the scheme on the e.on website, or by calling E.on on 0333 202 4820.
Domestic heating is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions across Richmondshire. This project will help lower income residents to take steps to improve the energy efficiency of their home and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, which may not otherwise be possible for them.
The project is part of the Council’s commitment to support and encourage the community to take steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as set out in its Climate Emergency declaration. The project will also help to reduce fuel poverty.
