Council tax energy rebate
The Government announced a £150 Utility Energy Rebate for most households in council tax Bands A-D who were liable for council tax on 1 April 2022. This was to help with the rising costs of energy bills.
We have paid out £2.1 million to over 14,500 eligible Richmondshire households. This council tax energy rebate scheme closed on 30 September 2022.
I did not qualify for the £150. Can I still get help?
The Government has provided funding to the Council to provide a discretionary rebate scheme. This funding is to provide support to vulnerable households who did not qualify for the £150 council tax rebate and are suffering hardship due to the rising cost of living. This includes people on low incomes in council tax bands E to H.
Visit our discretionary energy rebate scheme page for further details.
Where can I find out more information?
