Role

The Council is seeking a self-motivated person with a genuine interest in working with older people for the position of Resident Warden at the Council’s Sheltered Scheme at Oak Tree Court, North Yorkshire.

A Resident Warden’s duties include contacting the residents to ascertain their wellbeing and obtaining further appropriate assistance as required for them. The Resident Warden will be responsible for running a sheltered scheme, liaising with other agencies on behalf of the residents and the Council. Wardens need to have a flexible approach to work. They will be required to work independently, using their own initiative to solve problems and deal with emergency situations. 

The successful candidate will have experience of maintaining confidential records. They must also have experience of using a computer and be IT literate.

The role is part time - 24 hours, over six mornings a week. However, wardens are expected to provide on-call cover six nights a week as well. 

There is a rent free flat within the scheme which the successful applicant will be expected to move into.
