Title: Relief Warden

Salary: Grade 5, £18,795-£19,171 (SCP 15-17)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Part time

Hours: 8

Job Reference: SUPP HOUS 04-10

A relief warden is required to provide cover for the Resident Wardens’ days off.  We are looking to recruit someone who is self-motivated, with a genuine interest in working with older people, someone who is able to relate to the needs of our residents living in our sheltered scheme at Quaker Close, Reeth.  You must be able to work on your own using your initiative to resolve problems and issues as they arise. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work.

The regular hours are 4 hours 2 mornings per week (which at this time is Thursday & Fridays).  However, the relief warden will be expected to cover any absences and act as the warden when the warden is on holiday or absent.   This could mean providing cover 7 mornings a week during periods of absence.

The duties involve contacting our residents to ensure their wellbeing, arranging for further help if needed, contacting other agencies, Doctors etc as necessary, in addition to basic checks of the building.

For an informal discussion regarding this position, please contact Eileen Catt or Sophie Johnson, Support & Improvement Team Leader on 01748 901147 or John Turnbull, Support and Improvement Manager on 01748 901148.
