Title: Relief Warden (Thornborough Hall Gardens, Leyburn)
Salary: Grade 5 (SCP 15-17), £21,575 - £21,968 per annum pro rata
Contract type: Permanent
Working pattern: Part time
Hours: 3 (Tuesdays)
Job reference: SUPP HOUS 15-22
A Relief Warden is required to provide cover for the Resident Wardens’ days off. We are looking to recruit someone who is self-motivated, with a genuine interest in working with older, and at times vulnerable, people, and someone who is able to relate to the needs of our residents living in our sheltered scheme at Thornborough Hall Gardens. You must be able to work on your own, using your initiative to resolve problems and issues as they arise. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work.
You must be able to operate a computer competently, and possess skills and experience in using the Microsoft Office suite of packages – such as Excel and Word.
The regular hours are three hours every Tuesday morning, between 8:30 and 11:30, but this is flexible.
However, the Relief Warden will be expected to cover any absences and act as the Warden when the Warden is on holiday or absent. This could mean providing cover seven mornings a week during periods of absence.
The duties involve contacting our residents to ensure their wellbeing, arranging for further help if needed, contacting other agencies, doctors, etc., as necessary, in addition to basic checks of the building, including Health and Safety elements, fire alarm checks, and ensuring the building is safe and secure.
