New Planning Opportunities - New Direction

We currently have a variety of roles in Planning available in the different Councils across North Yorkshire. This is a unique time to join us as the eight district, borough and county councils in North Yorkshire are coming together in April 2023 to form a new organisation, one unified council. The single council will provide the resilience, scale and financial sustainability to deliver outstanding services, tackle the challenges facing the whole county after the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic, take advantage of future opportunities and provide secure, varied and interesting career prospects for our staff.

North Yorkshire is a special place. It is a great County with people and businesses who are proud to live here, proud of what they do and of who they are; the people who work for and represent the 8 councils are just the same. We are passionate about the place that we work in and the people for whom we work. We are proud about what we have achieved; confident about the services that we provide and ambitious for the future even through challenging times.

One unified organisation gives us the opportunity to further focus on the way we work, and to work in a more agile and flexible way, centred around our customers. Through local delivery hubs situated across the county we can offer staff increased flexibility as to how and where they work, for some roles the freedom to work anywhere across the county.

A single council will further develop nationally acclaimed essential services. By uniting we will take the best of all council services and have the scale to improve things for everyone living and working here. Whilst April 2023 may seem a long way away, work is underway to unite, unify and transform our councils, ensure we deliver a smooth transition to our new way of working which will benefit us and our residents in North Yorkshire.
