Criteria will be assessed via the submitted application form (A), and an interview (I).

Criteria Essential Desirable

Qualifications

1. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. (A) 

a. 4 GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English Language (A).

                    

Experience

2. Experience in modern office technology. (A)

 

b. Experience of local government
and/or licensing practice. (A)

Knowledge

3. Knowledge of computer systems and Windows-based packages. (A)

 

c. A knowledge of local government
enforcement procedures. (A)

d. Familiarity with the use of
spreadsheets and databases. (A)

Personal aptitudes and skills

4. An ability to communicate complex issues to the public
in a fair and equitable manner. (A, I)

5. Be able to communicate both orally and in writing. (A, I)

6. Have demonstrable numeracy skills. (A)

7. Be able to work on their own initiative. (A, I)

8. Be able to work under pressure to achieve targets and deadlines. (A, I)

 

Disposition

9. Be able to present a tactful and correct image of the service
and the Council to members of the public and outside organisations. (I)

e. Willingness to be personally
accountable and responsible for their
own decisions. (A)

Other requirements

10. Comply with the Council's Equalities and Diversity Policy. (I)

11. A commitment to work outside normal working hours as required. (I)

12. A current driving licence and use of a vehicle or availability of alternative means of transport to ensure the they can fulfil
