We are looking for two motivated, well organised knowledgeable people to play a key role within the Housing Options Team. You will be providing an advice service to members of the public who are seeking information on a range of housing options in the District and across a variety of tenures and situations.

You will be responsible for the assessment and discharge of the Council's statutory homelessness duties in line with the Homeless Reduction Act, with the focus on the development of innovative prevention measures to assist in preventing homelessness.

You will co-ordinate the placement of homeless households into and across a range of temporary accommodation available as well as assisting households into long term accommodation.

You should have experience of the Homeless Reduction Act, homelessness or tenancy allocations service and have a current and comprehensive knowledge of both private and public sector housing law, tenure options available and the welfare benefits framework.

You should have an appreciation of the circumstances that cause homelessness and be able to identify, devise and implement solutions which address the range of difficulties experienced by homeless households.

You should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have a clean driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
