We are looking for a motivated, well-organised and knowledgeable team player to take a key support role within the Housing Options Team. You will be providing housing support to homeless residents, with the key focus of stabilising people in housing crises and working with them to reset and work towards achieving housing stability and sustainment.

You will be a key support worker, responsible for providing the intensive housing support, assistance and signposting services to a variety of support agencies in order to help our residents to recover from homelessness. You will provide housing-based support plans, designed to enable residents to identify their requirements to sustain accommodation into the future.

As a member of the Housing Options and advice service, you will be involved with supporting the objective of achieving housing stability for those people falling into housing crises. You will be responsible for providing a quality housing support service for those experiencing homelessness by completing a comprehensive assessment of their needs and preparing detailed housing support plans.

You should be competent with administrative tasks and have a good level of IT skills and experience. The role demands a sound understanding of housing support, and the issues affecting homeless people. An understanding of the welfare benefits system and relevant experience of directly working with vulnerable people is an important area of the role. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be customer focused, with the ability to build excellent working relationships with our partner agencies. Promoting joint working will be used as an effective tool in obtaining positive housing solutions for your service users, based upon their assessed needs.

You will have a flexible approach to work tasks and will be able to empower our residents to make informed choices.

You will be required to be a pro-active member of the team that can work effectively both unsupervised and as part of a team.

You should be educated to GCSE/NVQ standard, or equivalent, and have a clean driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
