This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious person to work within our Commercial Services Team.
The Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety, private water supplies, and animal welfare licensing, and is based in the beautiful North Yorkshire town of Richmond covering a large part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
We have a vacancy for a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board.
The successful applicant will carry out the lead food safety role and be responsible for a varied caseload across the disciplines covered by the Commercial Services Team. This will include food premises inspections (and approved premises), responding to service requests and the investigation of food poisoning and outbreak notifications. Your role will include the provision of support and advice to individuals and the local business community, and where necessary to take appropriate enforcement action.
An enthusiasm for exploring new ways of working and developing new commercial elements of the service will be key aspects of this role.
