We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our small team responsible for delivering the Council’s decision making process.
You will have the opportunity to support a wide range of committees, including Full Council, Corporate Board, Overview and Scrutiny committees as well as regulatory and quasi-judicial meetings including Planning, Audit, Governance and Standards and Licensing. You will also assist in supporting Elected Members in their roles in the decision making process and as community leaders. There is also the opportunity to get involved in the delivery of the elections.
The post will take a lead role on health scrutiny matters and supporting the scrutiny process through managed reviews. Alongside these roles, you will proactively develop the scrutiny process and promote the function in the Council and the community.
We are looking for a confident and motivated person who is capable of balancing many priorities, can demonstrate effective administration, organisations and communications skills and have the ability to work as part of a small team. You will also have the ability to respond to pressure at peak times, manage your own workload and deliver high quality work to strict deadlines. You will also have excellent IT skills.
This is a specialist role and previous Democratic Services experience is not essential as full training and support can be provided to candidates that have the right skills, abilities, attitude and knowledge.
