A number of concerns had been raised regarding activities that were undertaken in the play park areas of Richmondshire. These ranged from dogs being exercised in the areas, alcohol being consumed and litter being left as well as smoking in the vicinity of where children were playing.
The play park areas were not currently covered by any enforceable rules to stop these activities occurring, but the Council had an opportunity to review the current concerns and consider introducing a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to reduce incidents which caused those concerns.
