Current schemes

The 2017-18 small business grant scheme is open for applications. The scheme which opened in November 2016 has to date supported eight small businesses with £25,900 left to award. Applications are welcome from small, local businesses within Richmondshire with fewer than four FTE employees, and grants of up to £1,000 are available. The next deadline for applications has been extended to Monday 8 January 2018. The application form and criteria is available to download below:


Previous schemes

We've operated the small business grant scheme for local businesses for the past five years. During this time, £120,000 has been awarded to more than 142 businesses. More information on each scheme is available on request.


Economic growth fund 2016-17

In October 2016, we launched the fund to support projects which aimed to generate economic growth for the district. To date, members have approved three applications:

  • Wensleydale Railway: Passing loop at Leyburn, £72,050
  • Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority: Swale Trail Project, £50,000
  • Uredale Mill Ltd: Development site in Askrigg, £100,000 (conditional)

We produce a quarterly funding newsletter, which pulls together a number of external funding schemes for:

The team regularly meets the Local Enterprise Partnership, Welcome to Yorkshire and local business associations to gather and share information with local businesses.
