Richmondshire Warm and Welcome Spaces Award
Purpose of the scheme
We want to develop a network of warm, safe and welcoming spaces to support those struggling with the cost of living, especially residents worried about the cost of heating their homes during the winter months.
Funding will be available to community venues such as village halls, community centres, social clubs and places of worship so they can provide a warm place where people can:
- come together to stay warm
- socialise
- perhaps enjoy some additional activities and hot refreshments
The fund will also provide a directory of all warm and welcome places across the public, private, health and voluntary sectors that anyone who is cold can go to stay warm and enjoy some company.
Funding
There is a total fund of £71,000. This is based on allocating £14,200 per Area Partnership to support the operation of at least one warm space venue in each of our five Area Partnership areas:
- Upper Dales
- Central (including Richmond)
- Lower Wensleydale
- Garrison
- North Richmondshire
How to apply for funding
If your organisation needs funding to support setting up a warm space, groups should apply to the fund by emailing grants@richmondshire.gov.uk.
