Current community grants schemes

Community Investment Fund 2020 - 2021

Launched in 2019 the Community Investment Fund is designed to support specific community projects or activities taking place within one of the five growth areas of Richmondshire.

For 2021 we have a total fund allocation of £250,000. Applications will be considered on a quarterly basis. The scheme will close following the allocation of the total funds available. £150,000 of the total funding allocation is ring-fenced for projects which will predominantly benefit the growth areas of:

  • Colburn
  • Hipswell
  • Leyburn
  • Richmond

The remaining £100,000 will be available to projects outside of the above areas.

Closing dates for applications are:

  • 31 August 2021
  • 30 November 2021

Richmondshire Coronavirus Community Grant Scheme

This is a new grant scheme that has been set up to help grass root organisations provide key support to vulnerable Richmondshire residents through the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme will help community groups across the district with cash handouts from £50 to £500. Apply for the Coronavirus Community Grant.


External grant schemes 

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, in partnership with Two Ridings Community Foundation, have made £40,000 available through emergency grants for community groups across Richmondshire and Craven responding to COVID-19.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to support community and voluntary groups dealing with emerging issues in the community as a result of the continuing threat of Coronavirus. The money could be used for providing food/medicine deliveries to vulnerable people, equipment to enable home-working for community groups, revenue costs and more. We've operated a number of funding schemes that have benefited the local community over the past few years:

Community Investment Fund 2019 - 2020

The Community Investment Fund was designed to support community projects or activities within one of five growth areas of Richmondshire. With a total allocation of £300,000, applications were considered on a quarterly basis for grants between £1,000 and £50,000. The scheme closed on 31 October 2020. 

Richmondshire Area Partnership Grant Scheme 2020-21 

This grant scheme was designed to support small scale, new or existing projects that brought benefits to the community. Applications were considered for up to £1,000. The scheme closed on Monday 23 November 2020.
