Apprenticeship funding

Update - 10 September 2018

The first tranche of applications has been approved through the Apprenticeship Support Scheme. A total of twelve apprenticeships have now been supported through the scheme, taking the total awarded to £18,646. There is still time to apply, with the next deadline for bids being 1st October 2018. 

The types of apprenticeships supported to date include, apprenticeships working towards Level 3 Hospitality Management, Level 2 Light Vehicle Repairs, Level 5 Operations Management, Level 3 Hairdressing and a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Degree.

Scheme details

Through the scheme businesses can receive up to £2,000 in grant aid and support for training and equipment when taking on a new apprentice.

The scheme is open to Richmondshire businesses that employ 50 people or less – with priority given to those with less than 20 members of staff, and with an annual turnover of less than £50 million. Both the business and the apprentice must be based in the district.

The next deadline for applications is 12 noon on 1st October 2018. Applications should be fully completed before they will be considered.

Apprentice hairdresser, 2 year course

Wage: £4 per hour, 31 hours per week

Qualification: City & Guilds Qualification in Hairdressing
