Street Litter Bins

Skip main content Skip main content
Litter in a public place is unsightly, dangerous to animals, and an offence.

Litter ranges in size from a cigarette end, to a bag full of rubbish.

A person is guilty of an offence if he throws down, drops or otherwise deposits any litter in any place to which this section applies and leaves it. So always try to use a litter bin or take it home.

There are many litter bins in Richmondshire.  Each bin is emptied to a minimum of once per fortnight .
