Changes to legislation mean that some
household items are now classed as hazardous waste. These
items are:-
- TV's
- Computer Monitor
- Fluorescent Tubes
- Fridges
- Freezers
If these items are being collected as a bulky collection then
there will be an additional charge of £5 per hazardous
item.
Local residents may also take hazardous waste to any NYCC
Household Waste Recycling Centre and give it to the
attendant. Private waste contractors will deal with hazardous
and special waste arising from a trade or business.
If you would like advice on the collection of hazardous waste,
please contact the Environment Agency on 0800 807060 or use
